ps we went to paris, france, a few times as a kid, before we stopped having the money for that sort of stuff. well we never really had the money but eventually we realised it. we don't have any real want to return again one day if only because the last trip, maybe the last two, didn't go so well and most of our memories of them are very tense family issues, it's sort of tainted that whole place for us now i suppose
but anyway the point is we went there a couple of times and we don't remember all that much of the actual country, just being around disneyland (we refused to actually go on any rides out of fear though so it was v boring), but i do remember we went to notre dame at least once. the actual cathedral, i mean. they played the organ and it was the most soul-twisting noise we've ever heard -- does that make sense, soul-twisting? it makes your bones feel all shaky and your stomach clench. it's a really wonderful noise but a little terrifying... it feels almost like at that moment you're being watched by god himself, honestly. we remember it so well it's a little shocking, considering how little we remember of most anything else from those trips. but then again not so shocking when you remember how it makes you feel. hmm
speaking of cathedrals etc -- do you know of the sedlec ossuary? it's something that we're really infatuated with i suppose atm. it reminds us of you a little ::') we look at it and don't think "oh how creepy how gross" but more "goodness how lovely, we'd like to go there one day...!", and then we tend to think "i bet ennis would appreciate this". SORRY IF THAT'S WEIRD LMAO but yes sometimes we see things and just immediately connect them with people we know and when it comes to you it's often things like facts of mythology, religion/spirituality, astronomy etc and sometimes it just happens to be dead things. i'm not sure why.
anyway going back to the ossuary in all honesty there's a little gross prince-of-the-dead inside of us that when he sees things like this thinks "oh i would like to live somewhere that looked like that!". although it'd be terribly impractical i imagine. and probably very spooky but. we'd kind of like to live somewhere SPOOKY!!!! ooooo
